Experts speculate that Thursday, Jan 31st 2014 was a record breaking night for text messaging. On this night, Chinese mobile phone users sent out billions of text messages as they welcomed in the Chinese New Year. Last year the numbers reached 800 billion and this year it is expected to have increased.
